"Stormy"

I love goats! They're like monkeys :) Stormy is definitely one of those goats with spider monkey qualities! :) A watercolor painting for my good friend Micki :)

"Odalisque"

"Lexi"- the half boxer, half English Bulldog, I had the pleasure of painting!
The way this dog was laying on the couch reminded me of "Grande Odalisque", also known as Une Odalisque or La Grande Odalisque, an oil painting of 1814 by Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres depicting an odalisque, or concubine. Ingres' contemporaries considered the work to signify Ingres' break from Neoclassicism, indicating a shift toward exotic Romanticism. Can't you see the resemblance :) HA!

DAY WORKERS

So I'm driving behind this really cool little rusted out catch trailer with a cowboy driving, cow-dog in the back and horse in all his trappings...it stops at a light and I take a picture of it to paint. Turns out to be someone I know! Ha! So I gave him this painting! Serendipity!
